Airport Transportation

The 3,100 hectare Nong Ngu Hao (translated as Cobra Swamp) in the Samut Prakarn province is home to the Suvarnabhumi Airport. It is about 30 km east of Bangkok. A series of new highways connect the airport’s access road to Bangkok's existing outer ring road. The main access road is an elevated 2 x 5 lane that leads from the passenger terminal through the northern part of the site to the new Bangkok–Chonburi highway.

The 8.6 km high-speed rail link to the new airport and the City Airport Terminal in Makkasan are foreseen to be completed in November 2007. The SRT’s planned Red Line commuter service will be operated jointly with the airport express, which will be called the Pink Line. This route will be connected to the BTS Sukhumvit Line (Phaya Thai station) and the MRT Blue Line (Phetchaburi station). It will provide much convenience to airport-bound passengers as it will be a fast 15-minute limited stop journey from the city.

Bangkok Airport Shuttle Bus Service

Passengers and airport staff are entitled to free shuttle bus service. There are two routes for these low-floor type shuttle bus services, namely, the express route and the ordinary route. The express route connects the main terminal directly to the transport center, while the ordinary route connects to other airport facilities.
